pool area, snack bar, banquet hall, spa...

So, I've been working on the spa, banquet hall, and pool area- here's a plan of the entire area:
Since my focus is on outdoor spaces, I've put a lot of thought into furnishings and materials used in the pool area. The pool is surrounded by lounge chairs, daybeds, and cabanas. Under a wooden pergola is the snack bar, tables and chairs, fireplace, and comfortable seating arrangements. Below the plan i have included some of the furniture and fixture selections...

a few new images...

Here are the plans for the Main Building- Check-in, sitting room, elevator, offices, 8 Guest Rooms and 2 Guest Suites. The Furniture has not yet been selected, so the arrangements might change.

First Floor:

Second Floor:

This is a site plan of the area, I've already posted that image, but I added a few rough dimensions as a reference.

This image gives an idea of the location of Bayou Bend, between the Houston Galleria and Downtown Houston. It is 4.5 miles driving from Bayou Bend to the Galleria.

Plans...

Here are some of my early plans, they still need to be tweaked... The first plan is the cottage building that will be used as a restaurant, the other 2 are the 1st and 2nd floors of the main building.

This building, the cottage, consists of a waiting area, hostess stand, storage room, main dining room, outdoor dining room, and kitchen. Since I drew these plans I've put them in sketchup and have already altered them. I have added a current sketchup model below...

The first floor of the main building will have the check in, a seating area, a ballroom/conference room, and 6 guest rooms. I've started to work on the entrance, check-in, and seating area- just the basics. I kept the fireplace the same as the one that's there already- for now anyways... the photograph that i have integrated into the sketchup model is the existing staircase- I didn't feel like building a staircase in sketchup and i plan on hand rendering over the 3d model.

The second floor of the main building consists of a large employee area that will be divided into storage, breakroom, laundry... On this floor there are also 2 guest rooms and 2 suites. There is also a covered balcony- which is pictured in a previous post.
These are models of the Bayou Bend Property showing shadows. They show the shadows created by the sun at 8:00am, 12:00pm, and 4:00pm on March 21(Equinox), June 21(Summer Solstice), and December 21(Winter Solstice). The Shadows would be the same During Fall Equinox as they are in the Spring. These images will help me plan the gardens and pool area.

These are a few inspirational images that I've found to help describe the look and feel that I'm going for while designing Bayou Bend Hotel and Spa.

I want to keep the architecture of the house, which is 18th century Georgian, with influences from Spanish Creole architecture. The original home owner coined the term "Latin Colonial" to describe this mix of styles.

I am going to try to keep most of the mouldings, fireplace mantels, door frames, window casings, and wood floors.
